Fall Startup results are now posted under "Competition Results." Placings nationwide, if there are any, will be determined later.
Name: WWTBAM Preliminary Qualifying Round
Date: Wednesday, September 18, in room 706, starting sometime between 3:45pm and 4:00pm.
Info: 10 question, 15 minute, variety of topics. Geared mostly towards seniors, etc. The problems aren't that difficult, but the time limit is very short. Must score 8/10 or higher to qualify for the secondary qualifying round (held sometime later).
After the secondary qualifying round, 10 people who participated are hand-picked by the American Mathematical Society from around the country to compete at the national competition, this year held in Baltimore, MD. All competitors at the national competition win prizes, and the winner takes home $10000 ($5000 of which goes to his/her school's math department).

We are proud to announce that the Presidents have opened a club website! It is possible this will soon become our primary form of communication. However, at the moment, just take a look around, and keep checking back for announcements (right now, they will also be sent over email though).
